Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Jaden Smith Party Atop L.A.’s Tallest Building
Kendall Jenner hosted a party at OUE Skyspace L.A. with Patrick Schwarzenegger, Russell Westbrook and more.
Kendall Jenner has found a way to take her fame to new heights, literally. Joined on Thursday night by big sister Kim Kardashian and a clutch of celebrity pals including Jaden Smith, Usher, Calvin Harris, Marlon Wayans, Rumer Willis, AnnaLynne McCord, Ariel Winter, Shaun Ross, Shailene Woodley, Patrick Schwarzenegger and athletes Von Miller, Emmanuel Sanders, Russell Westbrook, Golden Tate and Malik Jackson, the model raised the bar for the celebrity hosting gig at the OUE Skyspace L.A. lounge, also known as California’s tallest open-air observation deck.
The two-story space on the 69th and 70th floors of downtown Los Angeles’ 1,018-foot-high U.S. Bank building is billed by owner OUE Ltd. as a family attraction featuring a 45-foot-long glass chute known as the Skyslide, but for the red carpet event, it was called a “lounge.” Not surprising, as the event was presented by nightlife impressarios John Terzian and Brian Toll of The H.Wood Group, which owns Bootsy Bellows club and The Nice Guy restaurant, where Jenner helped BFF Gigi Hadid celebrate her 21st birthday recently. The other prominent host on the invite was retail real estate honcho Michael Riady, an executive at OUE Ltd., a division of the Lippo Group, Indonesia’s largest mall operator with over $6 billion in assets.
The invitation featured a stiletto-clad pair of feet pointing down the “terrifying glass” Skyslide hovering over the downtown panorama. But the line that probably drew the most attention for celebrity guests was the “cocktail attire” dress code. Materials sent to media emphasized “Cocktail Party Attire Required/Strict Dress Code or No Entry.” That would be in keeping with Jenner’s style standards, and also ensured that most of the high heel and minidress-clad crowd would not be sliding down said slide. Jenner opted to wear a velvet bralette top, sheer striped wide-leg pants, a matching jacket and her favorite single-strap black sandals, while Kardashian donned a black bodycon dress, natch, this time in mesh instead of leather. It was debatable whether Smith’s black hoodie, jeans and flannel qualified as cocktail attire, but he had no trouble getting past the velvet ropes.
Inside, guests were entertained by a performance by Travis Scott and sets by DJs Mia Moretti and The Dolls, Arkade and Devin Lucien. Jenner’s paramour Jordan Clarkson also came by, and the two left together. While Jenner’s little sister wasn’t present, she was still working it that day: Kylie hosted a lunch for Sinful Colors cosmetics and her antibullying-supporting capsule nail polish collection at Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills.
